Cori + Clarence | A Fairytale Wedding Day At Castle Farms
Here in Michigan we have this concept called “up north”. A phrase that instantly gives us Michiganders that hit of dopamine because up north translates to - summer vacation up on the beautiful lakeshores of Northern Michigan. Sun soaked skin, feet in the sand, and the cool spray of freshwater on our faces during an afternoon boat ride. It’s a total vibe.
One of the most charming towns we have up north is Charlevoix, MI. Originally called Fisherman’s Island by French settlers in 1852, now transformed into a historic beach town brimming with the lake life culture we Michiganders live for. Nestled in a isthmus between Lake Charlevoix, and Lake Michigan, and a dream town to visit to fill your cup with nostalgic summertime bliss.
Now that we’ve set the stage, you will better understand what I mean when when I say Cori and Clarence planned the most enchanting wedding up in Charlevoix. After meeting in the night scene when Cori was bartending, and Clarence was working as an MC, followed by ten years of friendship, and little silent crushes until the timing was right, it was only fitting for them to have a celebration this grandeur. Their wedding was not only a coming together of two people in love, but a unifying day for their two beautiful daughters as well. A symbolic transition over the threshold of becoming a family of four.
Their wedding day was a magnificent summer day without a cloud in the sky. Flowers bloomed all around us, and the air smelled like sea spray. We began our day with the girls at a beachside cottaged tucked quietly in town within a fence of hydrangeas. The boys nearby in a cottage of their own, before we all made our way to a magical and enchanting place - Castle Farms. A historical treasure built in 1918, with acres of gardens, sea stone walls, and castle scenes built for royalty. Their ceremony was in the Queen’s Courtyard, where Anna escorted Woody the dog, and Josephine rode her chariot down the aisle to witness mom and dad become husband and wife. After they said I do, the evening went on with merriment and joy. It was a celebration to be remembered.
Cori and Clarence… thank you for inviting me to join such a special day. It filled my heart to see you two so in love, and your daughters so happy and cared for. I wish you all many, many happy years together as a family soaking up every minute!
