Bella + Jay | A Golden Hour Garden Bed Engagement Session

It was the perfect, breezy summer evening for Bella + Jay’s engagement session. A light rain fell in the afternoon, cooling everything down and giving the summer blooms a nice drink! Come session time, the skies opened up, and just enough sun peeked through the clouds for the dreamiest portrait light.

When Bella and I brainstormed about the session, we landed on a nice blend of fancy Detroit and relaxing nature. So to begin the session we met on Woodward near the Shinola Hotel for a taste of modern city life. The upscale cityscape was just the ticket for that romantic date night feel. We danced around the city streets enjoying the lights and posh storefront entrances.

Afterward we made our way to another iconic Detroit destination - Belle Isle Park! Throughout June and July there is a community garden that is lush with colorful blooms and whimsical grasses. It’s my favorite place to catch the sunset! So we changed into a more casual look, and had a few snuggles in the flowers.

It was a delightful session through and through. We caught so many moments of joy and affection between this beautiful couple all decorated with the heavenly look and feel of summertime in Michigan.

Bella + Jay… this session set my heart on FIRE! It was such a treat to spend time with you both. You guys are literally models the camera loves you! I’m so excited for your wedding this October!
