Sydney + Adam | A Charming Lake Michigan Engagement in Manistee

It’s the absolute highest compliment when a friend reaches out to support your small business. It’s true what they say… when you buy from a small business a real person does a happy dance somewhere! Sydney + Adam are dear friends, and have been cheering me on through my photography endeavors for years. These two are the most genuine, loving couple, and their support has always meant the world to me. After they got engaged and Sydney reached out to me for their engagement photos - you better believe I shot up and did some major happy dancing!

Now these two are the adventurous type. They are planning a summery, bohemian destination wedding at a beautiful outdoor venue in Tennessee. So when it came to their engagement photos - I know I wanted to go BIG! We were brainstorming possible engagement locations like metroparks, local gardenscapes… but then we threw northern Michigan into the mix, and all three of us said, “Yep!”

Adam has a beautiful, lakeside property in Manistee, MI. His family has been frequenting the beach house for years and it’s a very special place for them. So away we went! Sydney did an amazing job planning her outfits and coordinating details (um, my dream client!), and it all turned into the most spectacular photoshoot! We began in the Manistee National Forest where we found some gorgeous tree lines, and dreamy seagrass. We took a pitstop at the Manistee lighthouse, followed by the family beach house of course. Then for the grand finale we found a secluded spot on Lake Michigan and settled into the sunset.
