Stacey + Art | An Elegant Autumn Wedding in Farmington

How do I even begin with these two! Stacey and Arthur have been loving, loyal friends of ours for coming on 5 years now, and when they started hinting toward hiring Light Garden Photography for their wedding, I couldn’t hold back my tears of appreciation! (Skip down to the bottom to see me weeping like a babe.)

A lot of people say to me, “It must be a lot of pressure to shoot a wedding, let alone a personal friend’s wedding…” which is true in part, but at the same time - not true at all! My personal relationship with Stacey + Arthur lends a built in layer of intimacy and comfort between photographer and subject. The very foundation of my business is nurturing personal relationships. So in that regard we’re already ten steps ahead!

Stacey is a school teacher so as you can imagine, she was totally organized in planning her big day. I knew early on it was going to be a spectacular celebration among loved ones. Then, after much anticipation… October, 16, 2021 finally came! It was a GORGEOUS fall morning. A crispness in the air, orange and yellow leaves sweeping through the trees, and the sun was peeking every so slightly through a cloudy sky.

Let me tell you, Stacey took my breath away when she put her elegant, satin wedding dress on. She then introduced me to my first taste of a Polish wedding tradition called Polka on the Porch. When the father (and brother in her case) of the bride play traditional Polish music for the bride as she leaves her childhood home and embarks on her new journey of marriage. It was so sweet! Peep the photos below!

We then continued to a heartfelt, Catholic ceremony at Stacey’s childhood church, followed by a SUPER FUN photo safari in Downtown Farmington. The floral mural was my favorite I must say. Stacey planned a special trip there just for me. (Love you so much girl!) Then to finish off the day we celebrated their reception at Laurel Manor with the most magnificent dinner, some tear-jerking speeches, and a pretty bangin’ dance floor if I do say so myself!

Stacey + Art… I can’t begin to tell you how much love and appreciation I have you for you guys in my heart. Thank you so much for inviting me so warmly into your wedding day, and for all of your continued support for my business. I hope these photos are any reflection of how much I loved doing this for you guys, and you grow to cherish them more and more throughout your marriage!
