Cassie + Brian | A Chic Urban Wedding In Downtown Detroit
When I first met Cassie + Brian they had this vibrant, loving energy about them. I could tell right away their wedding was going to be mushy and adorable.
This wedding tale begins with two distant, middle school friends who were reunited by a pinch of fate.
One chilly, fall afternoon campus was buzzing with tailgating fans for a MSU vs. UofM game. Cassie in green and white. Brian in maize and blue. Somehow, as if it was meant to be, both Cassie and Brian strayed from their friend groups. They each made a lap to catch up with their packs and then - they saw each other! I like to imagine it like the scene from Big Fish where the lovers see each other across the circus, the popcorn freezes around them, stars fill their eyes, and they lovingly walk toward each otherβ¦
Now if you thought that was cute, wait until you hear their proposal story! Brian low key invited both of the families to a local park in Brighton, MI. With the help of his loved ones (secret agents), Brian set up a Beauty and the Beast inspired enchanted rose in the park for Cassie to find. Cassie was lead down for a βphotoβ but instead found her rose and her man on one knee.
Needless to say their wedding was a smash hit. It was a cool and cloudy November day. The trees were orange and red and the blissfulness of fall was all around. Our newlyweds planned an elegant ceremony at The Sweetest Heart of Mary, the largest Gothic cathedral-styled church in the city of Detroit. After the ceremony the bridal party and I took a photo tour through Eastern Market and Belle Isle. These. Photos. Are. Awesome! As the sun drifted under the horizon we popped champagne and made our way to the much anticipated reception at the Inn at St. Johnβs in Plymouth, MI! Iβm telling you this celebration could have filled the hearts of the entire city. I could barely get myself to leave!
Cassie + Brianβ¦ it was really spectacular to share this experience with you guys. Thank you so much for such a cheerful day. I felt like family and I think it absolutely shows in your photos. I love these magical memories weβve captured and I hope you both will too. Sending love and light to you both today and throughout the many years of your marriage.
