Carolyn + Jake | A Sunny Outdoor Wedding At Fox Hills Summer House
College sweethearts, Carolyn + Jake often took winter trips to Grand Haven, MI to ease the stress of being in college. The waves of Lake Michigan were frozen, snow covered the beaches, and yet their love kept them toasty warm. One very special trip to Grand Haven Jake got down on one knee, and the two made their biggest commitment to each other yet.
When we first connected about their wedding photography I was overjoyed. The further they described their day, the further my heart started to beat out of my chest! A casual, summer wedding in the fresh air, and intimate family affair, bold red wildflowers bouquets... need I say more?
Then, with much anticipation the big day was here! I walked into the suite where Carolyn and her maids were getting ready for the wedding, and they were all smiling, laughing and pinning flowers in their hair. I found myself thinking, "Ummm pretty perfect way to start a wedding!"
And a perfect wedding it was! A warm, summer day in Michigan with rolling clouds in the bluebird sky. The sun shined happily on the open air ceremony, and gave us a spectacular pink and marmalade sunset into the evening reception. Carolyn + Jake held their outdoor wedding at the Summerhouse of Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center in Plymouth, MI. They accented the rolling green hills with beautiful blue centerpieces and deep red and blush bouquets. It. was. marvelous.
Carolyn + Jake, thank you, thank you, A MILLION TIMES THANK YOU for inviting Jenna and I to photograph your wedding day. We were both thrilled to be part of such a spectacular production. Thank you both for being so down to earth, and straight up awesome to photograph. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness and adventure for you both. You two certainly deserve it!
