Kayla + Matt | A Funky Colorful Wedding At Rust Belt Market

The greatest compliment I receive is when a wedding guest asks me, "Were you friends with the bride before the wedding? You two seem like you've known each other forever!"

I mostly say, "We weren't friends before, but we are now!" I love it because it means the couple and I have built a friendship so genuine via wedding photography, that even their guests are noticing! And this could not have been more true for Kayla + Matt's wildflower inspired wedding day.

Fate brought these two together when they both began teaching at the same school. Flirty banter in the halls, secret crushes, and all... they tried to keep is separate but as they say, love is love!

The couple tied the knot on a brisk, November day at the Rust Belt Artisan Market in Ferndale, MI. Their bohemian spin on this industrial space was delightful! Little packs of wildflower seeds as favors, craft cocktails served during cocktail hour... it was a splendid party indeed! The bridal party even toughed it out with me and for some outdoor photos in the beautiful (freezing) fall air!

Kayla + Matt... I have so many thing I want to say to you in this tiny paragraph. First, you both are really fun. I truly enjoyed your warmth and light-hearted energy. Second, thank you so much for everything you did for me during the wedding day. I appreciate all your flexibility and positivity! And third, lets go for margarita Friday sometime! All my love and warmest hugs for you both!
