Janelle + Christian | A Winter Micro Wedding At Gandy Dancer

Janelle + Christian’s love story spans across oceans. They were born in different countries, grew up speaking different languages, and yet fate found a way to bring them together in love.

Many years ago, Janelle set off on a grand adventure to Santiago, Chile to immerse in the culture, and to earn her keep teaching English. Janelle’s boss caught wind that she was (with the best intentions of course) trying to find people to practice Spanish with on the internet. Her boss thought maybe that wasn’t the safest idea, so she told Janelle she knew someone she could practice Spanish with instead - her nephew Christian!

So Janelle and Christian began to meet regularly for casual conversation to sharpen Janelle’s Spanish skills, and you can guess what happened next… they fell in love!

Now after almost a decade together, some of which was across great distances, they decided to tie the knot! They hosted a beautiful micro wedding here in Ann Arbor, MI at the Gandy Dancer, and will be celebrating again in Chile later this year!

Janelle + Christian… thank you so much for inviting me to such a lovely celebration. It was fun hearing and speaking a little Spanish again with everyone! I miss that beautiful language so much! Wishing you both a beautiful and happy life together!
